Acne can affect emotionally which
is pretty high than the physical damage. It’s not a life threatening disease
but a benign concern which needs few lifestyle modifications for curing and
prevention.
There are certain things that are
common but can aggravate the acne. Preventing acne is best but if you cannot here
is a list of 5 things which you should never do or avoid when you have acne:
Avoid oily and cheap cosmetic products
The skin pores are usually
clogged by cosmetic and makeup products. So if you use cheap or oily cosmetic
products during acne breakout, you can aggravate them. They may spread to other
skin areas also. It is advisable to select non-comedogenic cosmetics. Always
clean your face before going to bed and clear the acne skin of any makeup or
impurities.
You cannot wash away the acne
Washing is good but over washing is
one thing which you should never do if you have acne. Excessive washing can
happen because we usually have the perception that acne is dirty and are caused
due to poor hygiene. However, excessive washing can make the skin dry and
irritated.
Lessen the intake of acne aggravating foods
It is not proven, but there are
certain foods which when consumed can aggravate acne by triggering few hormone
secretions. Foods like oily junk foods, sugary products, dairy products, tea, coffee, tea, alcohol and chocolates can
provoke the acne. These food items stimulate the production of androgens which can
aggravate acne by secreting hormone IGF-1.
Don’t touch and never squeeze
The most common thing that
everybody itches to do but should never do if one has acne is touching it and
squeezing it out. Avoid doing this because this can spread the acne and also increase
the chances of acne spots.
Avoid sun, dust and pollution exposure
Acne
suffering skin is usually very sensitive and any exposure to sun, dust and
pollution can cause more irritation. It is recommended to not step out in sun
between 10 am to 4 pm. If it is absolutely necessary, wear a hat or have an
umbrella.
