Laser Resurfacing Treatment for Prevention & Cure of Acne Scars

Acne scars. Just reading this word can make you see red, isn’t it? On the quest to erase acne scars with various methods, cosmetic dermatology came across the advanced Pixel skin fractional resurfacing treatment which is based on the principle of micro thermal treatment zones.
How it works?

The Pixel laser pulses create microscopic holes in the skin thereby removing the epidermis and the upper dermis layer of affected acne scar skin. This triggers the body’s natural healing process to stimulate new collagen production and thus healthy new skin tissue on the scarred area.
The Pixel laser treatment to prevent and get rid of acne scars treats very small areas of the skin, leaving the surrounding area untouched and intact. The treatment also acts on fine lines, wrinkles, skin tone, brown spots, and surgical and traumatic scars

Procedure & After – Effects
The procedure starts with initial cleansing of the to-be treated area and then a topical numbing cream may be applied. The feel of laser resurfacing on acne scars feels slight warmth and the post effects can be slightly red skin or itching session.

The old skin peels off in 10 to 15 days and the new skin crops which don’t have scars. The treated skin remains sensitive for the first 3-4 days. Facial scrubs, washcloths or exfoliations needs to be avoided for a week and sun screen needs to applied generously whenever stepping out in sun.
